Why this course now

The Fundraising Regulator updated its Code of Fundraising Practice. The new Code started on 1 November 2025.

Many fundraising teams are unsure what changed and what they must now do. This course makes the new Code clear, practical and easy to apply.

What it is

This is a full-day training course on the UK Code of Fundraising Practice. It suits people who work directly or indirectly in fundraising. It is built for all staff levels. You can take it online or in-house for your own team.

The trainer covers the foundations and the key principles of the Code. By the end, you will know your duties and how to meet them. You will also leave able to plan and improve your own fundraising programmes.

The day runs in short sessions with breaks. Each session mixes teaching with group work and real scenarios.

  • Who the Code applies to, and the main 2025 changes.

  • How a principles-based framework works and the legal duties of running a charity.

Ethical standards

  • Fundraising with children and people in vulnerable circumstances, protections for fundraisers

  • Rules for collecting and processing donations

Fundraising methods and compliance

  • Rules for fundraising on online platforms, Payroll Giving, fundraising events and running prize competitions and free draws.
